Sackville Splash Pad opening today for summer season

Friday, July 15, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is pleased to advise that the Sackville Splash Pad located at First Lake, Lower Sackville, will open today at 1 p.m. for the summer season.

The Sackville Splash Pad is the municipality’s largest splash pad facility, with 21 water features including water jets, misters, geysers, structural loops, tunnels and more. The splash pad is a fantastic complement to existing outdoor recreation facilities for all ages located at First Lake, including Kinsmen Beach and a nearby playground.

The splash pad opening was delayed earlier this month in order to address a deficiency with the facility’s electrical system. The issue has now been addresses, and the facility approved for regular operation.

For Sackville Splash Pad operating hours, and a list of the municipality’s other outdoor aquatic facilities including supervised beaches, outdoor pools and splash pads, visit www.halifax.ca/rec/Aquatics/Beaches.php.
