The Halifax Regional Municipality is pleased to advise that the pool at the Sackville Sports Stadium will reopen as scheduled on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, following completion of required repairs due to an on-site fire in late October.
The Sackville Sports Stadium pool closed on Oct. 24, 2016, to accommodate required repairs to the pool, pool deck and the roof following a roof fire at the facility. Due to the extensive smoke and fire damage to the pool area of the facility, a multi-week closure was necessary.
Sackville Sports Stadium and aquatics staff are pleased that the repairs were successfully completed, and the pool will be ready to reopen for the winter term as scheduled on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017. Sackville Sports Stadium members and pool users can find the winter term aquatic programs and services online at https://thestadium.ca or by calling 902-869-4141.
The Sackville Sports Stadium and the municipality sincerely thank clients and community members for their patience and understanding throughout this unexpected facility closure.
