Cadaver dogs join search for missing N.S. siblings Jack and Lilly
RCMP are deploying cadaver dogs for the first time in the search for Jack and Lilly Sullivan, the two young children missing from Lansdowne Station since May.
The specialized dogs, trained to detect human remains, will search new areas after earlier efforts covered about 8.5 square kilometres of woods and the family property. Previous searches turned up only small footprints and a piece of Lilly’s blanket.
The case has involved polygraph tests for multiple family members, all of whom were found truthful, and hundreds of public tips. The children were last seen on May 1 at a local store with their mother and stepfather.
Police have not confirmed where the new search will take place, but say all investigative avenues remain open.
