Search for missing senior

Update: He was found safe.

Halifax District RCMP is asking for the public’s help to find 73-year-old John Shannahan of Dartmouth.

Shannahan was last seen on August 12 at approximately 5:30 p.m. before getting separated from a friend while picking blueberries. This was south of Highway 107 at km 22, between Lake Echo and Grand Lake.  The RCMP, Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency, Halifax Regional Police K9 as well as Halifax Search and Rescue are currently on scene and search efforts are underway.

Shannahan is described as a white male, 5-foot-6, blue eyes and wearing a white shirt with black lettering, khaki shorts and glasses.
