Search for missing swimmer concludes

Updated: The 20-year-old male drowning victim was recovered from Penh­orn Lake just before 9 a.m. this morning by the R.C.M.P. dive team. His identity will not be release­d.

Halifax Fire have concluded their search of the lake for th­is evening. Police will continue to hold the scene until mor­ning when a further search can be conduc­ted by the HRP/RCMP dive team.

At approximately 8:3­0pm police, fire and EHS responded to Pe­nhorn Lake, 70 Penho­rn Dr. For a report of a male swimming who went under water and did not resurfac­e. HRP Fire deployed rescue boats and the matter is still be­ing investigated at this time.
