Search under way for missing hunter, Scots Bay, N.S.

Kings County RCMP and GSAR teams are searching for a lost hunter in the South Scots Bay area.

At approximately 4:40 p.m. today, Kings County RCMP received a 911 call about a lost hunter in the South Scots Bay area.

Preliminary investigation determined that the 60-year-old man from Port Williams went rabbit hunting with his dog at approximately 9 a.m.. The man was unable to find his way back due to darkness.

RCMP activated the Kings County, Hants West and Annapolis County GSAR teams to help with the search. Teams from Clare and Digby also responded as well as Canning and Port Williams Fire service. A cormorant helicopter from the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) was also dispatched to the area and is assisting with the search.

RCMP have been in constant communication with the man and the search is continuing at this time.
