Search underway for lost hunter, Pleasantfield, N.S.

A search is underway for a lost hunter.

At 6:30 p.m. RCMP in Queens District received a report that an 80-year-old hunter was lost in the woods in Pleasantfield.

The hunter went in the woods in the Old Garden Road area at 10 a.m. this morning with fellow hunters. When he didn’t rendezvous with his group before dark, his friends began to search. When they didn’t locate him, they contacted the RCMP.

The RCMP have mobilized Queens District Ground Search and Rescue Team for assistance.

The missing hunter is an avid woodsman. He is not carrying a cell phone.
