Search underway for lost man, West Bay, N.S.

Richmond County RCMP and Ground Search and Rescue Team (GSAR) teams are searching for a lost man in the West Bay area.

At approximately 8 p.m. last night, Richmond County RCMP received a 911 call about a man lost in the West Bay area.

Preliminary investigation determined that a 67-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman from West Bay went into the woods to look at a property. The pair became disorientated and separated. The woman was able to leave the woods and call police for help.

RCMP activated the Police Dog Service and Strait Regional, Cheticamp, Pictou County and Cape Breton County GSAR teams to help with the search. The search is continuing at this time.
