Second annual Book Bonanza attracts hundreds of book lovers

The offer of free books attracted hundreds of people to the second annual Spryfield Book Bonanza on April 17. The Captain William Spry Centre atrium was filled with tables of free books and magazines. The books were donated by individuals, businesses, and the library. Visitors could take away as many books as they wanted, with the goal of getting adults and children reading! Volunteer Coordinator Kira Kelly estimated that as many as 300 people dropped by to take home books.

The event was put on with the help of the Single Parent Centre, the Edward Jost Children’s Centre, the Captain William Spry Library, the Atlantic Book Awards, and many other community agencies and businesses.
