A second man has been arrested in relation to a robbery that occurred last night in Halifax.
At approximately 11:47 p.m. officers responded to a robbery call in the 1000 block of Tower Road. The victim, a 22-year-old man, was approached by two men who threatened him and demanded his book bag. The suspects stated they had a weapon, but none was seen. The victim yelled for help and both suspects fled the area with the book bag. No one was physically injured.
With the quick response of patrol officers and the help of a K-9 Unit, the book bag was recovered nearby and a suspect was arrested on University Avenue. Eighteen-year-old David Anthony Carey of Halifax was held in custody and appeared in Halifax Provincial Court today to face a charge of robbery.
Earlier this afternoon, officers arrested a 17-year-old male in the 5200 block of Spring Garden Road in Halifax. He will appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court tomorrow to face a charge of robbery.
