Security guards assaulted in Downtown Halifax, police investigating

Halifax Regional Police is investigating an assault that occurred in Halifax earlier this month and is releasing a photo of the suspect.

On July 9 at approximately 4:35 a.m. police received a report of an assault that had just occurred on the Halifax waterfront in the area of the 1600 block of Lower Water Street. A man assaulted two security guards when they approached him after he damaged property in the area. The man then fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a white man with short blond/brown hair, a mustache and beard, tattoos on his forearms and hands, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and shorts.

Anyone with information in relation to the suspect, or the incident is asked to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.
