September 2, 2104 – Road Closure – Queen Street

Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that two blocks of Queen Street in Halifax will be temporarily closed to traffic on Wednesday, Sept. 3, to facilitate the installation of water and sewer pipes in the area.

Starting at noon on Wednesday, Queen Street will be shut down between Fenwick Street and Green Street.

The sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians and crews will accommodate local traffic and access to the Sobeys grocery store during the closure. However, there will be some delays and motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes, if possible. The street is expected to reopen at about 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

The municipality apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this closure or the installation work may cause.
