The Fellowship of the Ring (M) begins on September 22nd 2890 (by Shire-reckoning) on Bilbo Baggins eleventy-first and Frodo’s thirty-third birthdays. Hobbit fans worldwide celebrate this day with parties and feasts to make the Shire proud. Tolkien’s Middle-earth has inspired numerous societies, both fan-based and scholarly, musical theatre adaptations, histories, philosophies and some really spectacular motion pictures.
