Serious injuries after man stabbed in Dartmouth

HRP release:

Members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating an assault with a weapon that occurred this evening in Halifax.

At approximately 10:41 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment building on Primrose Street, in Dartmouth. Investigators located a 61-year-old man who had been stabbed. The man was transported to hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries. 

Police remain on scene in the area. Investigators do not believe that this is a random incident. This matter is in the early stages of the investigation and limited details are available at this time.
