seventh generation diaper donation program

Seventh Generation is aiming to reach their goal of giving away up to 240,000 diapers to 40 shelters in Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. This means a donation of up to $160,000 in diaper value to a charitable cause that rarely sees corporate assistance. During October for every package of Seventh Generation diapers you purchase {in Canada} one package will also be donated to a women’s shelter.

Seventh Generation gave me the opportunity to donate several packages of diapers to a local women’s shelter so I chose the WIN House in Edmonton to donate our diapers to. Edmonton Women’s Shelter Ltd. {EWS}, most commonly known as WIN House, is a non-profit agency operating two shelters, WIN House I and WIN House II. The WIN Houses are for women with children or without children who are fleeing domestic violence. The houses were opened in 1970 and now operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

I’ve always donated our clothing to a local women’s shelter, but realized clothing isn’t typically what they’re in need of most. Since women leave their homes with their children unexpectedly shelters are often in need of personal care items especially large sized diapers. Here is a short overview of what most women’s shelters {specifically the WIN house} are in need of. I hope you’ll find his list helpful when you’re putting together donation packages:
