Sexual assault involving Halifax youth

The Special Victims Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division has charged a man with sexual offences that occurred in Cole Harbour.

On May 30, 2022, the Special Victims Section received a complaint of sexual assault and began an investigation. The investigation resulted in charges against a 28-year-old man, from Halifax, in relation to a youth victim who was known to him.

On June 14, police arrested and charged Ryan Andrew Rutledge, 28, with Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference and Invitation to Sexual Touching. He was later released on conditions and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on July 26, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.
