Sexual assault near Camp Hill Cemetery

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a sexual assault that occurred yesterday in Halifax.

At approximately 6:15 p.m., police received a report of a sexual assault that had occurred in the area of the Camp Hill Cemetery 1600 Summer Street. While at in the area, a man approached a woman who was not known to him and touched her in a sexual manner.

The suspect is described as a man in his 40s, approximately 5’8” tall with a greying goatee and wearing a red shirt, blue shorts and flip flops.

We are not releasing further details out of respect and concern for the victim’s privacy and well-being.

We encourage anyone who is the victim of a sexual assault to contact police. We want victims to know they will not be judged, and will be treated with compassion, dignity and respect throughout the investigative process. More information on reporting sexual assaults is available on our website.
