Homes hit by gunshots during altercation on Romans Avenue

Halifax Police are investigating an altercation on Romans Avenue that ended with a number of shots fired, and local residences getting hit with bullets.

From HRPD:
At approximately 7:00pm Halifax regional Police responded to a call of
shots fired from the 3400 block of Romans Ave in Halifax. Initial
reports from witnesses in the area were that there was an altercation
between 2 groups of males, and as a result of this altercation it
appears that shots were fired back and forth between the groups. Varying
reports indicate that there were between 8 and 12 shots fired in total.
A number of residences were struck with gunfire, but thankfully no one
was injured. It does not appear that any of these residences were the
intended target of the gunfire. It is believed that one of the suspects
fled the area on foot, while a number of other suspects left the area in
a vehicle, described as a white SUV with some chrome on the vehicle. The
male who fled on foot is early 20’s, approximately 6 feet tall and wearing a
black puffy jacket.

The HRM Integrated General Investigation Section as well as the Halifax
Regional Police Forensic Investigation Section are continuing to gather
evidence at the scene. Anyone with information about this incident is
asked to contact officers at 490-5016 or anonymously through Crime
Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
