Spring will come early, according to a prediction made today, Feb. 2, by Nova Scotia’s famous groundhog, Shubenacadie Sam. The furry forecaster came out of his hut and did not see his shadow. Folklore says that means a shorter winter.
Sam appeared at 8 a.m. before a crowd of more than 100 people and a live-streaming camera at a Groundhog Day ceremony at Shubenacadie Provincial Wildlife Park.
