Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has concluded its review into the April 19, 2020, Onslow Fire Hall incident and has determined that no criminal charges are warranted. The SIU reviewed information considered by the Joint Federal/Provincial Commission into the April 2020 Nova Scotia Mass Casualty (Mass Casualty Commission), with respect to shots fired by two RCMP officers at the Onslow Fire Hall on April 19, 2020.
The Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) had asked Ontario’s SIU to review whether any new information considered by the Mass Casualty Commission that had not been considered in the SiRT’s investigation of the shooting, would impact the previous SiRT decision that no charges were warranted.
