The Nova Scotia RCMP Financial Crime Section, with assistance from New Minas RCMP and Kentville Police Service have arrested 6 people in a 16-month fraud investigation.
A New Minas car dealership was defrauded of 1.3 million dollars, related to 26 vehicles.
In the early morning hours of September 19, two men and a woman from Kentville, a man and a woman from Berwick, and a man from Canning were arrested at their homes without incident. They are facing charges including Fraud Over $5,000, Laundering Proceeds of Crime, and Possession of Proceeds of Crime.
All six people were released from police custody later the same day and are scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on December 11 at 9:30 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
