Slater poised for 10th title; odds to win Rip Curl Pro Search

At 38 years old, Kelly Slater is on the verge of winning the ASP World Title for an unprecedented 10th time.

With just two events left in the ASP World Tour, the Cocoa Beach, Florida native leads the ASP standings with 58,000 points. Slater has won three of the first eight events and finished second twice.

The next closest surfer in the standings is 22-year-old South African Jordy Smith with 48,750 points followed by defending ASP World Champion Mick Fanning of Australia with 41,250 points.

The winner of each event on the World Tour earns 10,000 points, econd place gets 8,000, and third gets 6,500. If Slater can finish in third place or higher in the next event, he will clinch the World Title.

The next event on the tour is the $400,000 Rip Curl Pro Search in Puerto Rico from October 30 to November 10. The following are odds to win the event at SportingBet.com.au:
