McNally Construction is running their slipforming rig at pier 9 forming new Caseons for the New Pier 8 at Halifax Shipyard. This pier will form the laydown area.

Once begun, the concrete has to be poured continuously until complete. The Pier then Sets, and is towed to its final location and sunk.

This is the same construction method used on the Pier 9 expansion.
