Snowmobile Accident Sends Woman to Hospital

Shortly after 9 pm this evening, there was a snowmobile accident on Springfield Lake near 355 Lakeview Ave in Middle Sackville.

Halifax Fire crews from several stations were called in to rescue the two occupants from the ice.

According to S/Sgt Scott Warnica, the 42 year old female operator of the snowmobile was transported to the QEII Hospital with life threatening injuries. The 13 year old female passenger suffered only minor injuries and was not taken to hospital.

There are unconfirmed reports that the 42 year old female may have been impaired while operating the snowmobile.
