Tuesday, April 15, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality would like to remind residents that there will be no regular municipal solid waste collection services on Good Friday, April 18, 2014.

Curbside collection of garbage, organics and recyclables normally scheduled for this Friday will occur the next day, Saturday, April 19.

Collection on Easter Monday, April 21, will not be affected. Residents who have regular Monday collection should put their waste, organics or recyclables at the curb, as per the usual collection schedule.

Due to the holidays, the Otter Lake Waste Processing and Disposal Facilities, the two Composting Facilities and the HRM Recycling Plant will be closed on Good Friday, April 18, and Easter Sunday, April 20. However, those facilities will be open regular operating hours on Saturday, April 19 and Monday, April 21.

In addition, HRM’s residential Household Special Waste (HSW) Depot located at 20 Horseshoe Lake Dr. will be closed Saturday, April 19, but will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 26.
