People with Nova Scotia student loans who live in areas of New Brunswick and British Columbia that are impacted by severe flooding will not have to make payments on those loans for six months.

The suspension of payment will help Nova Scotians whose ability to repay may be impacted by the flooding and allow them to focus on coping with the disruption.

Loan borrowers who live in the affected areas are eligible and those with addresses in the affected areas already on file will automatically have their loan payments suspended.

Borrowers who are affected but unsure whether they are eligible can contact Nova Scotia Student Assistance at 1-800-565-8420.
