A month without booze…

Or  junk food or partying or late night pizza or cheeseburgers.  And instead I’m replacing it with exercise, sports and real food.

I think I’m offcially beyond the “I need to go out and drink my sorrows away” point that guys go through when freshly out of a relationship and I’m now at the “I want to get in ridiculous shape for the summer” point that guys go through when freshly out of a relationship.

When people ask me why I started YourInnerSkinny, I tell them it’s to let people know that you don’t have to be perfect with your diet or at the gym to be healthy or in shape.  It’s about moderation and knowing your limits and knowing when to stop and when to put down that cheeeburger, or those beer or that pizza.  You can have a cheat day or fall off the wagon once in a while, that’s no big deal.  It’s how you get yourself back on the wagon or how you deal with the fact that you cheated on your diet, that’s the important part.  The biggest thing is to not let one meal or one day set you back.  You cheated today? Ok, suck it up, stop feeling bad about yourself and get your ass to the gym. It’s really that simple.

I’ve done the whole 2 weeks or 1 month without drinking before and I always feel amazing after it’s done.  There’s no hangover, there’s no regret for eating pizza at 4 am or drinking all those empty calories in the alcohol and it gives me an extra day or two a week to workout or run or play a sport or do whatever the hell I want to.  Plus, it’s a great way to save money.  I’m really really looking forward to this!

I had my last little hoorah on the weekend for my birthday and I was all geared up to start my new regime yesterday but instead I spent the day in bed with a migraine.  My whole body hurts right now, but it’s from lying in bed instead of from a great workout.  When I put my body through a bunch of crap like I have been for the past month, it repays me with a migraine.

So today, I’m going to do a weigh-in, take a before pic and see what a month of eating well and training hard at the gym brings me.

Wish me luck!
