Ta-Da!

Remember when I used to have a little baby?  Well I went away with my baby for a week to help my sister with her wedding and I came back with a little boy.  Seriously.  Look what he can do.

Sitting up all by himself*

Before we left, Cameron could sit up for a few seconds on his own, but he would quickly topple over as soon as he was no longer centered.  He was strong enough to sit up but had no idea to balance.  If you check out some of his five month photos, you can see that he is sitting, but I am balancing him with my legs.
At the beginning of last week however, I started to notice some serious balance on Cam’s part.  All of a sudden he was sitting for two, five, ten minutes at a time.  Instead of toppling over, he would often manage to get himself balanced again and continue playing.  I would call my husband who was home and tell him that his son was sitting!  It was so exciting!

Showing Daddy how good we can sit

Seriously, how fast is this little guy growing up?  Just a couple of months ago he couldn’t even support his own head!
I am amazed at the development that babies go through.  I am so lucky to watch Cameron learn and grow.  Every day he becomes bigger and stronger and further away from being the little baby who was first placed in my arms.
I couldn’t be prouder.

*That second picture looks like my child is going to choke himself with my keys.  Mommy Fail moment?  My son is so interested in everything but his toys and we were currently at a salon prepping for Auntie A’s wedding, so keeping him entertained was important.  Plus, I was clearly very vigilant since I was taking pictures of him non-stop.  Cameron’s well being is my top priority and I don’t think playing with keys every once in a while will hurt him.
