Special weather statement in effect for:
- Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
A low from the southern United States will track across the Great Lakes and Quebec on Sunday. A very mild and humid air mass will reach the Maritimes bringing rain and strong winds over most of the region. Significant rainfall amounts are expected Sunday night and warnings may be required especially over southern regions. The rain will change to flurries on Monday. Over New Brunswick temperatures will quickly fall to well below zero during Monday afternoon resulting in icing conditions. This temperature trend is expected over Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island Monday evening.
Another vigorous system will likely impact Atlantic Canada around the middle of the week with a good possibility of some rain heavy snow and strong winds.
