It has been a long, cold winter! Folk in Halifax are glad to be outside again! This spring and summer, while there will be some changes in the “normal” , will be full of fun days and nights. In this article, we will highlight the festivals that are already confirmed for the next few months. You don’t want to miss these festivals. They are always a lot of fun, and this year there will be a new feeling of freedom celebrated. Besides, nobody throws a festival like Halifax throws a festival.

Before the warm months, and days of music, games, shows, and fun begin, we would like to remind everyone that we have been out of touch with outdoor living for a while now. Please take a moment to inspect your equipment before venturing back outside. Make sure your phone is in good working order and your cell phone charges. If you need a new battery or charger, take care of it now. If you are a diabetic, you may want to replace your old blood glucose meter. Ascensia is the maker of Contour Meters and experts in the field of diabetes for more than 70 years. Click this link for a Bayer Contour Meter Coupon. Be sure everyone in your group is safe.

The Halifax Pride Festival is one of the most successful merry time investments in Halifax. Annually, it brings in 20,000 visitors, guests, vendors, and entertainers. The following information about this years festival comes directly from the Halifaxpride.com site:

Our collaborative community festival will feature small scale, daily, in-person live events on our Festival Site (the Garrison Grounds), showcasing a wide range of local talent. Our online program will provide a variety of entertaining and educational opportunities, including performances streamed from our Festival Site. We also welcome the return of our beverage garden, a Community Market, and a Health & Wellness Area – all in accordance with public health guidelines.

Using knowledge we gained from the 2020 festival, we once again hope to:

  • Plan exceptional online and in-person gatherings
  • Implement public health protocols to keep participants and organizers safe
  • Empower QTBIPOC – centered spaces and events during the festival
  • Provide event funding to 2SLGBTQ+ and QTBIPOC groups and individuals through our Community Event Funding Program
