The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Spring Garden Road, between Birmingham and South Park streets, will reopen to pedestrian and vehicle traffic on Thursday, Dec. 23 at 5 p.m.

This construction work was in support of Imagine Spring Garden Road (Spring Garden Road Streetscape Project).

All Halifax Transit routes will come off detours at the start of the service day on Friday, Dec. 24. For the most up-to-date route information, residents can visit halifax.ca or follow @hfxtransitalert on Twitter.

A reminder that all parking and loading spaces on Spring Garden Road have been removed, and no-stopping along the corridor will be enforced. Accessible on-street parking is available on side streets.

The utilities will complete their work connecting customers to the new underground system in early January. Finishing work, such as installation of benches, may take place in January, or in the spring with the installation of trees and planting.
