A man already in hospital is now charged after an altercation this morning.
After further investigation, it was determined that the 19-year-old man
was the victim, acting in self-defense against his assailant. Officers
have since arrested the man who was taken to hospital and he is expected
to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court tomorrow to face charges in
connection with the incident.

Police Investigate Stabbing
Officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation
Section (GIS) are investigating a stabbing that took place this morning
in Dartmouth.
At 11:21 a.m., police were called to the 0-100 block of Kennedy Drive
regarding a disturbance involving a group of men who were fighting.
Additional information was received that one of the men was stabbed
during the incident. Responding officers located the victim who was
taken to hospital with what are believed to be non life threatening
injuries. A GIS officer who was in the area arrested a 19-year-old man
matching the description of the suspect. A knife was also seized at the
time of the arrest.
The 19-year-old man remains in custody and charges are expected.
