The victim of a stabbing last month in Halifax has died and her death
has been ruled a homicide.
On April 28 at 6:33 p.m. police responded to a stabbing inside a
residence in the 0-100 block of Flamingo Drive. Upon arrival officers
located the victim suffering from a life-threatening stab wound. She was
taken to hospital but on Saturday, May 5, she died and her death has
been ruled a homicide. She has been identified as 77-year-old Norma Jean
Salah.
Forty-one-year-old John Jason Salah of Halifax was arrested at the
scene and was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and
possession of a weapon. Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major
Crime Unit will consult with the Public Prosecution Service to have the
charges upgraded to second degree murder.
