September is a favourite time for MLB baseball fans. The pennant and wild card races are really heating up and getting close to the wire, all leading up to the exciting World Series in October – but alas not for my beloved Toronto Blue Jays, who are out of the race. Maybe next year?
Here is the description from Russell Hill’s website:
“In this new novel, the reader will encounter unforgettable characters, including a gorgeous female owner of a rag-tag minor league baseball team, her deeply smitten lover, an aging Jewish manger and Billy Collins, the young whiz-kid chucker with the blazing delivery from deep in the basement and with a mysterious and desperate past. Part crime novel, part baseball saga, it’s a rollicking, funny tale with dark moments.
