Store clerk in Bedford robbed

Halifax Regional PoliceA store clerk was shaken but not physically injured after she was robbed outside Needs Convenience in Bedford early Saturday morning.

At about 12:45 a.m. police were called to Needs Convenience at 1239 Bedford Highway. Upon arrival, officers learned that a female staff member, while taking out the garbage, had put her book bag on the ground. A man approached the female, pushed her against a garbage bin, grabbed her bag and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a male of an unknown ethnicity, about 6-foot-2 with a medium build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
