Street race sparks two crashes, manhunt for driver

HRP release:

On June 21 at approximately 4:00 p.m., two motorcycles and a car were travelling outbound on Main Street in Dartmouth. Witnesses believed them to be racing.

The car rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped in traffic. The car drove off but stopped a short distance away. The driver was seen exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot.

The K9 Unit responded and searched the area but was unable to locate the driver. 

The driver of the vehicle that was hit was assessed on scene by EHS. 

Moments later, one of the motorcycles collided with a car in the area of Main Street and Brigadoon Avenue in Dartmouth.

Both drivers sustained what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospital by EHS.

The investigation into the incidents is ongoing.
