Annapolis District RCMP have charged a 17-year-old male with Dangerous Driving under the Criminal Code.
On August 15th, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Annapolis District RCMP, along with Emergency Health Services and Annapolis Royal Fire Department responded to a single vehicle collision on Parker Mountain Road.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a south bound vehicle lost control and struck a hydro pole.
Police investigation revealed the vehicle involved, a Honda Civic, was racing on the roadway with a Chev Cavalier prior to the crash. The lone occupant of the Civic, a 21-year-old man from Annapolis County, was transported to the Annapolis Royal Health Center with non-life threatening injuries. He was later released from hospital.
A 17-year-old male from Annapolis County, who was driving the Cavalier, was later arrested for Dangerous Driving. He was released into the custody of his parents and will appear in court in October 2013. The investigation is continuing and more charges are anticipated.
