At 8:10 a.m., a member of RCMP Southeast Traffic Services observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and passing on a double solid line on Hwy. 103 in Martin’s River.

The vehicle was clocked at 176 km/h in a 100 km/hr zone, 76 km/hr over the posted speed limit. The driver’s licence was suspended indefinitely at the time of the traffic stop.

The 44-year-old man from Hebb’s Cross, Lunenburg County was charged for Stunting and Driving while Suspended, under the Provincial Motor Vehicle Act. His license continues to be suspended and his vehicle was seized. The fine for stunting in Nova Scotia is $2,422.50.

Nova Scotia RCMP want to remind the public that speed is one of the major causes of serious injury and fatal collisions on our roads.
