Stunting driver charged: 80 km/hr over the limit – Saulnierville

On March 23 at 9:27 p.m., Meteghan RCMP stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 1 in Saulnierville for driving 130 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone, 80 km/hr over the posted speed limit.

A 21-year-old male driver from Little Brook, Digby County was charged with stunting under the Motor Vehicle Act. The vehicle was seized, towed and his driver’s licence was suspended for seven days. The fine for stunting in Nova Scotia is $2,422.50.

Nova Scotia RCMP want to remind the public that speed is one of the major causes of serious injury and fatal collisions on our roads. Road Safety is a priority for the RCMP, and drivers are reminded to make it their priority as well.
