Stunting driver clocked at 170 km/hr on Highway 101
On Oct. 26 at 6:08 p.m., a member of Kings District RCMP was on patrol on Hwy. 101 and stopped a vehicle that was travelling at a very high rate of speed. The vehicle was observed overtaking other motorists while travelling in the passing lane. The police officer activated the RADAR and clocked the vehicle at 170 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone near Kingston. He stopped the vehicle and served the 50-year-old male driver from Wilmot a ticket for Stunting. The vehicle was seized and was towed from the scene.
The fine for stunting in Nova Scotia is $2,422.50. The RCMP want to remind the public that speed is one of the major causes of serious injury and fatal collisions on our roads. Road Safety is a priority for the RCMP, and drivers are reminded to make it their priority as well.
