Suggestive Saturdays: Party Essentials

It’s that time of year again where we need to start thinking about the different events we need to attend. If you’re anything like me I don’t really plan too much ahead of time because I know I’ll have something I can throw together. That being said it’s important to have certain basics when heading into the holiday season. I’ve put together a little outfit inspo board for you, so you can start thinking about the things you might have at home or something you might consider picking up.

If you have a few of these basics the only thing you’ll need to worry about is setting your hair in some hot rollers and grabbing your favorite shade lipstick because you  will be ready to go! Mix and match these items to suit your event; whether causal or formal there’s something here that will work for you.

If there’s one thing you need it’s tights! It’s bloody cold out there blog readers and if you’re going to wear a dress you’re going to need something for those little bare legs of yours! I love experimenting with different pattern tights; unfortunately Polyvore doesn’t so much. These baroque tights where the only pair I could really find that were suitable: sorry. Check your local boutiques for better selection, and actually places like Sears and Wally World (Walmart) have been surprising me lately with their selection.

You are also going to need a couple go-to dresses. Clearly the disco one is really bold, so it’s not something you can wear over and over again without people noticing it’s on repeat. Save this bad boy (or girl I guess) for a really special event like a New Years Eve Party or something you are REALLY looking forward to, and opt for switching up the red dress and black skirt in between.

I didn’t include coats or cardigans in this collage, but they really are a staple for any holiday season. I usually mix it up between black, emerald green, and white, but you can decide for yourself what you think is appropriate. I really like the idea of wearing bright pink over the holiday season; I think it’s a nice change from all the black, navy and gray! I think my little obsession will even transition over to my lipcolor; I’m seriously loving the bright magenta colors like seen here. Mostly I need sweaters for layering because it’s typically minus a million where I live. Okay maybe not that cold, but it feels that way if you’re in a little party dress. Cardigans for the win!

If there is anything you take away from this it’s that you NEED something that sparkles, and you should have at least one item that is red! If you manage to get those two things you are good to go!! oh and the tights! Trust me! ; )

I am not ashamed to say that I love getting dolled up for holiday events and parties! What better chance is there to where bright red lipstick and some fabulous bling? It’s probably the most exciting time of the year because everyone is home, and enjoying good food and good company!  Oh and did I mention the presents? I love everything about presents! I love wrapping them, I love picking them out, and I love seeing the reaction from the person who receives them! If you check my Pinterest lately you will have noticed a new board “Holiday Fever” where I have been collecting gift wrapping and decoration ideas! Check it out, but be careful because it’s a true statement! I’ve been bitten hard this year blog readers!
