Hello to all!

This is John here checking in from the Resource Opportunities Centre in Terence Bay. Where does time go?! The summer is coming to a close and all of our children’s activities have finished for the season. On behalf of the ROC I’d like to thank all those who participated in our events here in Terence Bay.  It was always nice to see the local children getting involved and making the most out of their summer vacation.

We had great attendance for our camps, especially throughout July where we reached our capacity. It was also nice to see previous campers returning. A good time was had by all as the ROC staff and campers participated in the wide variety of activities. Some of the highlights include wood crafts such as picture frames and puzzles, beach days and BBQ’s in Sandy Cove,  and treasure hunts that led the kids throughout Terence Bay from the SS Atlantic Museum to the Sandy Cove lighthouse. 

Our movie nights were held on alternating weeks when the camps were not going on. They took place on Thursday evenings and were also well attended. Kids from the community came to enjoy pizza, popcorn, and a movie on the big screen amongst friends. 

Again, many thanks to the kids and also the parents for  their participation this summer. As it is soon time for the kids to get back to school and hit the books, I wish them the very best and hope all goes well this coming year.
