Super Easy Spiced Apple Cider Recipe

This recipe is not so much of a recipe so much as it is a suggestion. With only 3 ingredients it’s foolishly easy, and can be whipped up on a dime.

A few weekends ago I hosted a Halloween bash at my place for some of my friends, and I made a couple different Halloween inspired dishes. One of which was this Spiced Apple Cider which I cleverly labeled as “Swamp Water” you know, for effect!

Like I mentioned early this recipe is ridiculously easy, and not to mention inexpensive. I’ve made this recipe a thousand times over and I’ve always gotten a ton of compliments, and you’ll never guess what’s in it blog reader! It’s just SO easy!

I use my crockpot, and I just throw everything in, and it does all the magic for you! You could also use any old soup pot you have lying around, and just bring it to a boil and let it simmer on low for the evening.

This time around I used chai tea bags because that’s what I had on hand, but I’ve used the Celestial Seasonings “Bengal Spice” before which is a great caffeine-free option (if you and/or your guests are concerned). The Bengal Spice tea bags are also amazing for making chocolate truffles too (just a tip)! Annyyyyways here’s the recipe (if you can even call it that).

Ingredients

1 litre of apple juice (which ever kind you prefer)
4 Chai Tea bags – Brewed with 4 cups of water.
2-3 cinnamon sticks.

Directions

Crank the crock pot to high, and pour in the apple juice. Let it increase in temperature while you prepare the tea!

Brew your tea bags (at least 5 minutes), and remove the teabags.

Once your apple juice is nice and hot, add the tea to your mixture, and place your cinnamon sticks on top!

Now you can do whatever it is you need to do pre-party (you know shower, whip something up last minute, clean the toilet – ideally not in that order) and your apple cider will be ready when you are.

My crock pot isn’t very powerful, so I only had to put the temperature down to “low”, but you can gauge yours accordingly. Leave the cover off and your entire house will smell amazing and your guests will be greeted with the pleasant smell of fall when they walk in through your door!

Now is that easy or what? Happy Tuesday Blog Reader!
Sincerely,
