Windsor District RCMP have discovered what is believed to be traces of fentanyl from a stolen vehicle in Poplar Grove.
On August 8, as part of an investigation into a stolen truck, RCMP officers discovered trace amounts of the drug while searching the recovered vehicle.
This is the second time this week where RCMP officers may have come in contact with fentanyl in the Windsor area.
“The preliminary investigation revealed traces of drugs to be fentanyl.” says Cpl Cote, Windsor District RCMP “This is concerning given the events involving two men who recently overdosed in the area. We want to alert the public that this drug is in the area. The fact that fentanyl can be added to other drugs without the user’s knowledge is also very alarming.”
The investigation is continuing.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Windsor District RCMP at 902-798-2207. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can also contact Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or text TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or submit tips by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash award.
