Suspects Caught During Overnight Robberies

From HRPD:
Excellent work by Patrol, Quick Response and K-9 officers led to the arrest of three males early this morning in relation to two robberies that occurred overnight in Dartmouth. At 11:43pm, three males, one armed with a sawed off shotgun, entered the Petro Canada station at 610 Portland Street.

They demanded cash from the clerk and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes.  Forty nine minutes later at 12:32am, three males entered Roberts Pizza at 364 Windmill Road.

The males were all wearing masks and one was armed with a sawed off shotgun. They left the store without obtaining anything, fleeing in a gold coloured vehicle.  A gold Sebring was spotted by patrol officers on Pleasant Street near highway 111 at 12:48am.

It refused to stop for officers and proceeded to drive onto Novawood Court where all three occupants fled the vehicle.

The driver, a 15 year old youth, was arrested at the scene and two others fled on foot. K-9 officers searched the area extensively recovering a shotgun in a nearby field and subsequently arresting the second male, 17 years of age, at 1:30am at the end of Provost Street.  The third male, 19 years old, was arrested at 2:30am on MacKenzie Street.

All three remain in custody at this time and the investigation into both robberies is ongoing.
