Halifax Regional Police is warning members of the public about a man who is going door-to-door in Halifax asking for money.
On October 27 at approximately 9 p.m., a man living on Robert Murphy Drive answered his door to find a man who stated that his car was out of fuel and he was looking for money to buy diesel. The resident gave the same man money and he promised to return to pay him back; however, the man never returned.
Last night at 9:30 p.m., a man working outside his MacDonald Street house was approached by a man who also stated that he was out of diesel and was looking for either diesel or money to buy diesel. The resident refused to give the man anything and he left the area on foot.
Based on the descriptions provided by the citizens, police believe the same man is involved in both of these incidents. He is described as a white man, 35 to 45 years-old, 5’8”, medium build, with a square jaw and short hair that is dyed blond. He was wearing a grey suit on one occasion and a grey crew neck sweater on the other one. Both times, he was wearing a grey jacket. He is described as very well spoken and well groomed.
