Suspicious Package Halifax Commons

At 11:20am several police units were dispatched to the Halifax Commons for a call of a suspicious package. A white female approximately 20 years old, blond hair, wearing a red hoodie, dropped a suitcase near the fountain and kept on walking. ‎Officers began to cordon off the area around the fountain. The suitcase was located which  was actually a picnic basket that the officers were able to determine was empty.  The area around the fountain  was reopened to the public at 11:40am.
At the time of this incident the Bluenose Youth run was in progress and some of the route was on the streets surrounding the Commons. There was no interruption to this run.

‎Officers are attempting to locate the female suspect to determine what the motivation was in her dropping the basket on the Commons.
