Targeted parking ban on Beech Street

Monday, Sept. 9, 2019 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is imposing a targeted parking ban beginning Tuesday, Sept. 10 along Beech Street in Halifax.

The parking ban will begin at 8 a.m. and will continue until the work is done, likely by Wednesday, Sept. 11. The parking restrictions are necessary in order to facilitate high-risk tree removal operations in the area.

The parking ban will be in effect along Beech Street from:

  • Chebucto Road to Oak Street
  • Quinpool Road to Geldert Street

Prohibited parking signage will be in place and vehicles will be towed if they are impeding the work of tree-removal crews.

High-risk tree removal crews from Ontario will be augmenting municipal crews and will be using large heavy machinery that will take up considerable space on Beech Street.

The high-risk work will include removing trees that landed on homes and power lines during Hurricane Dorian.

The municipality apologizes for the short notice and any inconvenience this work may cause.
