“The Tattoo Festival is a way to engage the local community and the performers,” says Scott Long, Managing Director and Executive Producer of the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo.
Presented by Halifax Heating, the Tattoo Festival is a series of free, fun, family-friendly events around Halifax – including Sobeys store locations, Grand Parade, and Sackville Landing, from June 30th to July 6th.

“The Tattoo Festival allows the performers to showcase their skills in different ways; and to reach an audience outside of the Scotiabank Centre. We’re proud to provide other venues for these talented artists.”

Winding through downtown Halifax and along Spring Garden Road, the Sobeys Tattoo Canada Day Parade kicks off at 10:00 am outside the Scotiabank Centre. It will continue left onto Brunswick Street, right onto Spring Garden Road, right onto South Park Street, right onto Sackville Street, and left back onto Brunswick Street.

Following the parade, spectators can head over to the Halifax Common, where the SkyHawks Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team will jump at 11:45 am.
Other Tattoo Canada Day programming includes Tattoos & Trucks, a fun-zone for children to interact with military and police vehicles that will be parked along Cogswell Street from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm; a free concert hosted by the North American Brass Band Summer School Musicians outside the Halifax Central Library at 9:00 am; and, of course, the Tattoo’s Canada Day Matinee at 2:00 pm.
The Tattoo is also partnering with Alderney Landing for Canada Day Eve activities on June 30th.
