Taxi driver arrested for sexual assault after early morning incident

At approximately 2:50 am this morning, Saturday July 9th, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report from a 20 year old woman that she had been touched in a sexual manner and kissed by a cab driver without her consent.  The victim and the cab driver were located by HRP in the 1800 block of Barrington Street in Halifax a short time later, where the cab driver was taken into custody without incident.  As a result of the investigation a 44 year old man from Halifax will appear in Halifax provincial court on September 8th2016 to face the charge of sexual assault.  There were no physical injuries to the victim in this matter.
